A Eulogy for Moonlight
The death of rain
In deafening droplets
Does the splashes glitter and glow.
Across the painted landscape
Fires born and raised
Passionate and considerate,
But do they consume
And leave but ash.
A dreamscape to perceive
No rulers no masters
From the tops of our sky
To the point of our blades
Does blood drip with rain.
A melancholy sigh
Do the evergreens bellow and cry
For we have lost
Never to return.
In the midst of the chaos
The mist of the pain
Is our path lit and candled
By our once bright hopes
Are the soft songs spoken
As a eulogy
For moonlight.
